The Mitras National Grid Semi-Buried Gas Meter Box G60032, also commonly known as the “wet box”, is a specialist domestic gas meter enclosure designed to be partially buried at ground level. Commissioned by National Grid Gas, it is specifically designed to house the Itron (formerly Actaris) U6 SC6 plastic-bodied gas meter.
Manufactured from durable glass reinforced plastic (GRP), the G60032 is weather resistant and designed for long-term outdoor use. The GRP construction will not rot or corrode, while the enclosure is also fire retardant to BS 476 Part 7 Class 2.
The meter box is supplied with a meter box key and conforms to BS 8499 requirements for domestic gas meter boxes. A replacement lid is also available separately under model number G60033.

Installation
The Mitras G60032 is designed for semi-buried installation, with part of the enclosure positioned below ground level. The installation pipe should be connected to the outlet adaptor located on the right-hand side of the meter box.
As this is a specialist meter enclosure, the meter type and installation requirements should be checked carefully before ordering.

Replacement Lid
A replacement lid is available separately for the G60032. The compatible replacement lid is the Mitras G60033.

Please check meter compatibility before ordering. The manufacturer's datasheet specifies the G60032 as suitable only for the Itron (Actaris) U6 SC6 plastic-bodied gas meter. If the enclosure is required for a different or newer smart meter installation, compatibility should be confirmed before purchase.
